| What To Do |
| Are your investment accounts still in a slump? Just as an athlete or a sports team remedies the slump with a back to the basics approach, so can you with your investment approach. Absolute best way to do this is to dollar cost average into the market. Are you adding money to the market each and every month, year in year out, no matter the political, economic, or end of day’s predictions? Many people (most actually) stop investing and/or adding cash just when they should be – i.e. when the market is down or trading sideways. I have always noticed a remarkable difference of the accounts that add new money consistently v. those that don’t. The market these days is a lot more volatile than years or decades past - it’s not just your imagination. The socioeconomic political climate is much more volatile as well. All of this uncertainty adds to the small investors psyche and sometimes translates into the fear that the end of days is near. I don’t portend to know the answer to the later. But, I can tell you this. Those who save and invest consistently over their lifetimes don’t have to worry about it! |
