Week In Review: It's A Technical "Thing"

Recap
Well, that didn’t last long.
Review
As I am sitting here at the computer this am, the market completely falls apart – so, what you’re saying is there is still some skepticism out there! Fantastic, Buy, Buy, Buy!
What To Do
Every so often a glaring technical formation will emerge on a chart pattern (index, stock, commodity); it really doesn’t matter ‘what’ you are looking at, all ‘charts’ are created equal when it comes to technical analysis. Keep in mind, just like fundamental analysis, technical analysis is an art; and, therefore, not 100% accurate all of the time. As an investor it’s just one more tool to improve your buy or sell decisions. That being said, there looks to be some fairly prominent technical formations building on the three major indices:
The Dow – Reverse head & shoulders formation with key support @ 12,000.
The Nasdaq –Triple bottom and support @ 2,600.
The S&P 500 –Triple bottom and support @ 1,250.

We wouldn’t recommend ‘selling’ at any of these technical levels, because any sell off in the market equals a buying opportunity when you include all of the other positives on the market – earnings, Presidential election cycle, accommodative interest rates, to name a few. We do recommend buying into this market at these key support levels. Again, the market may very well break through these key support levels. Even if they do you have entered or reentered the market at reasonable valuations, and holding additional cash (as you should) you can buy more into a precipitous market correction going into Aug, Sept, Oct timeframe. Remember, you will ‘never’ get the absolute bottom or absolute top. So, play the middle, think long term, and be happy with your purchase price based on all known factors (including technical analysis).
Quote of the Week
“Don't try to buy at the bottom and sell at the top. It can't be done except by liars.” Bernard Baruch (1870-1965)
